France is seeking to strengthen ties with Africa by co-hosting a major summit in Kenya, marking a shift toward broader engagement beyond its traditional French-speaking allies. Speaking in Nairobi, President Emmanuel Macron promoted “equal footing partnerships” and “co-investment” while discussing security, economic dependence and geopolitical competition.
