British Gas has agreed to pay £20 million into a compensation fund following an investigation into the forced installation of prepayment energy meters in vulnerable customers’ homes. Energy regulator Ofgem said the company will also write off up to £70 million in customer debt after reports emerged that debt agents had entered homes to install the meters. British Gas previously apologized for the scandal and related practices. #UK #BritishGas #Energy #Ofgem
