Swiss voters have rejected a proposal to cap the country’s population… – Jacob Smith

Swiss voters have rejected a proposal to cap the country’s population at 10 million, according to official referendum results. Nearly 55 percent voted against the measure, which was backed by the anti-immigration Swiss People’s Party. Opponents argued the proposal could damage Switzerland’s economic interests and threaten agreements with the European Union, while supporters said population growth needed stronger controls. #Switzerland #Referendum #Immigration #Europe
